Review: Consistent Creative Content

Today I will be reviewing Consistent Creative Content, by Lee Hall. I met Lee on Twitter and was impressed by his kind and respectful personality, as well as his obvious intellectual mindset. I purchased a copy of his book because I was interested in hearing how he built his own following, and was looking for ideas to extend my own reach. Here is my review.

A personality-filled, informative read.

In this book, Lee Hall shares his own experiences in building a following, with the intention of helping other authors develop a plan for success. His book includes action points to follow, his musings on various related topics, and step by step of his own journey.

Some of what he says is common sense but hearing it in his unique style helps bring to mind things we often take for granted. Other information in the book finds a way of creating that a-ha moment in the reader’s mind, giving birth to new ideas to try.

Lee has a warm, personable approach in this book that makes it easy to understand. After reading his book, I have a solid sense of respect for the man and I’m grateful for the light bulbs he’s turned on in my mind.

My main complaint, which is mild at strongest, is that the book repeats itself in many places. That may be by design, to drive a point home, but for me personally, that space could have either been filled with additional content, or could have been omitted to make it more succinct. Despite this minor issue, it was well worth the read and I will refer to it many times as I move forward on my own quest to build a following.
