From Alexander’s Desk – 4/11/2022
Hello everyone. Thank you for checking out this week’s writing update to see what I’ve been up to. I was hoping to get this update back on schedule on Saturday but life happens so I’ll try again next weekend. This week has brought about some successes and other missed marks. Let’s take a look, shall we?
The Renegade Ocarinist
This week I was successful in adding about 1300 words to my novel. That’s the good news. The bad news is I only wrote on two days. It still brought about a solid 1,000+ word day which I’m excited about because I know I can do it again. I also kind of like how it’s progressing and my next phases should give me a good flow for my writing for a bit.
Related News
In related News, I added one serial micro fiction piece this week. It was a bit of a slower piece which now moves us into a little more interesting territory. I should redeem myself with the next few pieces!
I’ve cleared the location for the Musician’s Mall in Minecraft and have begun construction! This is exciting for me and I hope you’ll enjoy it when I’m done. I’m wanting to slow that down now though, and focus more on writing now that the area is cleared.
I haven’t added to my related side project this week but my wife gave me some great ideas that I will try to incorporate into Ansparian content.
Unrelated News
In unrelated news, my wife and I have been playing more board games together. Most recently we’ve been enjoying Dominion, and we’ve got an expansion on the way. Did you know there are at least 14 expansions to this game?! This will be our first one but I’m sure we’ll get more!
I didn’t really make much progress on my story for the anthology this week. Current status is that I’m still coming up with a plot. I know the feel I want for it though, and I’m super excited with my expected contribution to the book!
I’m up to 356 Twitter followers. I haven’t been engaging as much this past week so hopefully this week I’ll be more active there. I am currently reading a book by a mutual follower on Twitter. It’s called The Wizard, by Bob Masingale. I’m just getting started but will keep my thoughts on it to myself until I’m done and review it.
This Week's Goals
This week I’d like to write three new serial micro fiction posts, add 2500 words to my novel, reach 375 followers on Twitter, 2 new pieces for my side project, and assess my side project to see where it stands. I will make better decisions with my time, because I owe it to my readers, my family, and myself!
Until next time, stay safe and enjoy life!
