Happy Saturday, everyone, and with that comes my weekly writing update. I haven’t been sleeping as well on this third week of January so that has affected my morning output. However, my afternoons have picked up a bit from last week. With this upcoming week I’ll just try to press ahead and do a little better than before.

The Renegade Ocarinist

The Renegade Ocarinist was my strong point this week. I added 2966 words to the story, and am advancing the plot through the Musician’s Mall (have I mentioned I love this place?). Mia is struck with awe with sights from the mall, realizes some regrets of past actions, and has a bit of a puzzle to solve.

I didn’t make any headway on my side project this week. Normally I’ll use the morning commute for that but as I mentioned, I haven’t been sleeping well so it had to be one of the casualties. Perhaps this week will see a return to that. I hope so.

I did release another excerpt from The Renegade Ocarinist, though, as well as the next part of the races, talking about the Uncivilized Races. Now to note, this is neither an exhaustive list of all the races in Ansparia, nor is it in-depth. It is an overview by one historian who feels he is doing a great service by sharing with you some of the basics.

Unrelated News

In unrelated news, this past week I was able to get caught up at work. This will take a load of stress off me as I now have simply to maintain the records. I tried my hand at a little bit of drawing (I’m lucky if I can draw an effective stick person) but honestly, I didn’t have enough time to get anywhere with it. Maybe on breaks at work I’ll continue with it and if I get something substantial I’ll share it here, even if it’s lousy. I didn’t make my Twitter goal of 150 followers, but I did manage to reach 122 so I can live with that.

This Week's Goals

This week I plan to forge ahead with The Renegade Ocarinist. It’s my primary focus right now and I’m setting the goal of 5000 words again. Hey, I was closer this week! One more push ought to do it! Instead of an excerpt this week I’ll be putting out a second lore post, so look for lore on Sunday and on Wednesday this week! I’ll keep my Twitter goal at 150 followers by week’s end. And with any luck I’ll get back to the side project and add 2 pieces to that this week. Yes, I’ve lowered my expected output because I’m just getting back to it.
