From Alexander’s Desk – 1/16/2023
Wow, wow, wow! A lot has happened since my last update almost 6 months ago. I didn’t realize it has been that long and for that I apologize. Momentum is building, though, and things are about to happen lightning fast! Don’t blink or you may miss it!
Websites
The website I previously had for my Child of Lies series (written under the name Robert V Adkisson), expired and I renewed the domain for a year once it was available again (I didn’t want to spend an extra $75.00 to reactivate it so I had to wait). After purchasing the domain I came to the decision that I wanted all of my material on one website so I didn’t have to manage when this is expiring, when that one is, etc. So I’ve added a section to this website for Child of Lies.
Child of Lies
Child of Lies is a planned trilogy which begins with book 1: Winter’s Bite. I published this in 2016 and I’m happy with how it turned out, even though I know it’s not perfect. The Valceine Prophecy is book 2, and is almost complete, looking for a late February launch!! Almost equally as exciting is that the trilogy should finish up in May/June with book 3, The Legacy of Valcea. In addition to the trilogy I’ve got a book that leads up to the novels called The Path to Winter’s Bite. It’s 8 chapters of ancient history about the creation of the world, the gods, and magic. Following are 23 chapters of material that take place about 18 years before the novels and set up with the births and early childhood of Braelyn, Kryh, and Shiji, along with events surrounding the Four Mages.
New Releases
So I sort of touched on that last paragraph but not entirely. I’ve launched a Kickstarter to help fund artwork and in 4 days it was funded! I still need to wait for it to finish up on January 31 so there is still time to donate and press for those stretch goals! As of this moment, we’re $40 short of the first stretch goal of $600.00.
With that said, this year I will be re-releasing The Path to Winter’s Bite as both a paperback and eBook (currently only eBook) with its new cover!! I’ll also be releasing The Valceine Prophecy and Legacy of Valcea as both paperback and eBook. And if I make my second stretch goal for my Kickstarter I’ll redo the cover for Winter’s Bite and release it with additional content later this year.
That should (?) wrap up the Child of Lies series and free me up to continue writing for Ansparia. There will be more in-character poetry books coming later this year and maybe a few extra surprises as well!
Currently Writing
So at this time I’m working on finishing The Valceine Prophecy. After that I’ll be powering through The Legacy of Valcea, which I’m super -psyched about! From there, we’ll see where we go.
