From Alexander’s Desk – 4/3/2022
Hello everyone. These last few weeks have been up and down for writing. Work has been a bit busier and although there has been writing progress it has been a bit unstable.
The Renegade Ocarinist
I have written a little more of the next scenes in the story but not a lot, since I’m focusing on other related and non-related writing. Mia is safe, for the moment, but has a quest to attend to while continually expecting to be discovered.
Related News
The most noteworthy updates related to Ansparia are the serial micro fiction shorts I’ve begun writing. They follow the adventures of two Nom children in small, bite-sized portions (around 300 words each). I’ve got 3 of them up, and a couple more should be on the way this week!
I’ve also written a few pieces for the Ansparian side project. I need to take inventory of what I’ve got and see how close I am to completion. I’ve made some progress on the Musician’s Mall in Minecraft, but I’m trying to cut back on that and focus more on writing.
Unrelated News
In unrelated news, I’ve continued optimizing the SEO for my website, as well as a few cosmetic changes like adding some calls to action on my posts and some pages. I still have work to do on this front but it’s going fairly well.
I’ve also begun work on a short story I’m writing for an anthology. It will begin with a poem, and my character is an eccentric man that should have a feel of Alice in Wonderland, steampunk, and a Victorian feel. It should be a blast to write!
As far as Twitter goes, I’m enjoying interacting a bit more and I’m up to 349 followers, so that’s pretty cool. There are a lot of great people on Twitter! I’m noticing a lot more views on my website and Twitter is a large portion of that, so thank you to everyone who is visiting from Twitterland!
This Week's Goals
This week I want to put out 2 or 3 new serial micro fiction entries. I’d like to finish another 2 pieces for my side project, but like I said I need to take a look and see where it stands. I also intend to move another 2000 words ahead in The Renegade Ocarinist. And if I can get one more good piece with Ansparian Lore, that would be fantastic!
