Waves

This was a fun little poem I wrote, originally attributing it to Braelyn from Winter’s Bite. It still could be hers as she pens it while staring out over the ocean from the Temple of Flame, but really it could be anyone’s.

I watched the waves. The waves I watched

Waved from the sea toward the land.

And as they crashed upon that beach

They soaked a million grains of sand.

The waves were in command,

Oh yes,

The waves were in command.

They started out a long way off

Where water deep as giants tall,

Could host the creatures who then churned

The sea serene to massive wall.

The creatures caused it all,

Oh yes,

The creatures caused it all.

The dolphins started out in fun.

The octopus then fiercely flailed.

But sharks would never be outdone

As swimming cyclone thus prevailed.

The sharks their pow’r unveiled,

Oh yes,

The sharks their pow’r unveiled.

And soon the sea rose high above

The beach so fair, the sand so warm.

And cast its mighty waves upon

The sculpted castles on the shore.

Castles and waves at war,

But then,

The waves and castles were no more.
